I purchased ** inches LED Videocon TV with * years warranty from 'Vasanth & Co, **/* Padmanabha Nagar, Adyar Chennai - ******" on **th Nov **** paying rupees *****/-. The TV stopped working and went black (no display) end of July ****. The TV has worked exactly * years * months. Contacted 'Vasanth & Co' and they, in turn, asked to contact 'Videocon ** X * Customer Care at ***-********' and thus the seller "'Vasanth & Co" washed away their hands. Videocon sent me details of their service partners which is "Maxwell Engineering, Judges Colony, Kottivakkam, Chennai- ******" and the manufacturer too washed away its hands.
On the **th Aug ****, Mr Ramesh Service Engineer (Maxwell Engineering, Chennai-******) (Mobile **********) visited, opened the warranty seal at our residence. He flashed his mobile light on the tv. Although there was no display, we could see images /pictures in the background and the sound. He said the LED bulbs have to be replaced and we need to carry the TV to the service centre. Although we insisted the service be carried out at our residence, he refused since it is a **-inch TV. He said he needs to check on the spares and will let us know when it is ready to be taken back.
On **th August ****, carried my TV to the Maxwell Engineering, Chennai – ******. The “workshop work order” number is ****. Mr Ramesh - Service Engineer assured it will be repaired within a weeks’ time.
On **th Aug ****, I received a call from “Maxwell Engineering” asking me to take back the TV home. The panels have gone and that they are going to place a request for replacement.
I did not take my TV back home. From **th of August till date which is almost * months nobody picks call from Videocon customer care which is ***-******** and the email customercare@vgmail.in No positive reply from Maxwell Engineering too.
Wrote email to Mr Venugopal Nandlal Dhoot to refund my money as he is the founder and owner of Videocon and starting many new ventures even now. He also washed away his hands as he did not reply. I can produce the proofs at any court.
My sincere request to consumers, please buy any branded products from the same exclusive branded outlet. Know the warranty and guarantee a difference. For example, if you buy a Panasonic buy from Panasonic exclusive outlet.
