I placed an order of some ready made sweet boxes from a restaurant via Swiggy. As soon as I placed the order within a minute I realized I have missed an item so I contacted their customer service to cancel my order. They cancelled my order but before confirming the cancellation they did not inform me of any cancellation fees. But after cancellation I got the message that a cancellation fee of **** rupees has been deducted. I was surprised as I was not informed about this prior to confirming cancellation otherwise I would not have cancelled my order. So I panicked and contacted their customer service via chat. As soon as I wrote my query on their chat support, a guy named Preet was assigned to my query. But instantly while I was chatting with him over chat I simultaneously got a call on my registered mobile number from a guy claiming to be from Swiggy customer service team. So automatically I believed he was calling from Swiggy as true caller also showed the number from swiggy and he knew about my order issue. So he informs me that no cancellation fees will be levied as I had cancelled the order within the free cancellation window and that mu money will be refunded within * days. So I believed it to be genuine, but when even after * days I did not receive any refund then I contacted Swiggy customer service over chat they told me that no refund will be issued and that they did not make any calls. I was shocked as if the call was a scam then the scamster was definitely involved with either the Swiggy team or the restaurant as only they knew about my issue and only they had access to my personal data. The timing of the call was exactly as soon as I contacted Seiigy over chat, so definitely someone from swiggy is involved. When I reported this to swiggy instead of taking any action they ignored my request and still denied refund. This is so upsetting as not only did they cheat me on my money but they alao violated my data privacy rights as now my adress, phone number is compromised from their platform.
