I booked a flight ticket using MakeMyTrip and while booking, the app showed a banner suggesting that my flight was covered under the best fare guarantee. This implied that if I found the same fare cheaper elsewhere, MakeMyTrip would refund the difference or something to that end. Now, after booking my flight, I noticed that the same flight was available almost Rs. *k cheaper on another platform. When I raised this issue with the MakeMyTrip staff, the customer care agent advised that I had used a code on my MakeMyTrip booking. Hence I was ineligible for a refund. I have screenshots to show that the best fare promise banner appears even after applying the code. This is clearly a case of fraudulent advertising and strict action needs to be taken to such misconduct in order to protect the consumer.
