I am filing this complaint regarding severe deficiency in service and harassment caused by Yatra during my Mussoorie trip booking.
Details of Incident:
I booked a hotel stay at Elivaas Zephyr, Mussoorie through Yatra for **–** May **** for approximately INR **,***.
On ** May ****, Yatra informed me that the hotel was “not confirming” the booking and requested me to accept another hotel.
I informed Yatra that I had already arranged transportation directly to the booked property from Dehradun Airport and requested them to try arranging the same hotel.
Yatra repeatedly assured me that the issue would be resolved shortly.
However, after reaching the hotel around * PM on ** May ****, the hotel informed me that they had not received any reservation under my name from Yatra.
The hotel staff also informed me that rooms were incorrectly shown as available on Yatra due to a technical/system issue.
From around * PM until nearly ** PM, I repeatedly contacted Yatra customer support. Every time I was told to wait another ** minutes while the issue was “escalated.” During this period:
Me and my wife were stranded in an isolated area of Mussoorie late at night,
No proper transportation was available nearby,
No confirmed alternate accommodation was provided for several hours,
We suffered extreme inconvenience, stress, and mental harassment.
At one point, despite explaining our situation, a Yatra representative rudely suggested that we “take refund and go.”
As no confirmed accommodation was arranged in time, we were forced to directly book a room ourselves at the same hotel by paying INR *,*** out of pocket.
Only much later did Yatra confirm an alternate booking.
Relief Requested:
Reimbursement of INR *,*** paid for emergency accommodation,
Refund of failed booking amount if not already refunded,
Compensation for mental harassment, negligence, and deficiency in service,
Appropriate action against the service failure.
