Job scams or job fraud is quite common in India. We all know how tough it is to find a job that perfectly suits our needs. We frequently search on the Internet if there are any job openings in our particular field.

However, there are many fake job consultancy present on the Internet. They track your history and call you by telling you that they have a job offer in your respective field. They make false promises about your chances of employment and how you will get a job by paying a certain amount.

How to protect from Job / Employment Scams?

Therefore, a person should always be careful while looking for jobs online and should not pay any money for joining as any genuine job company will not ask for money. There are, however, certain signs which indicate a job scam. Some of these are asking for money beforehand, asking your bank account details, unprofessional emails which contain numerous grammatical errors, no information about the company on the Internet etc.

Therefore, if you are looking for jobs online and find any of the above mentioned possibilities you should probably steer clear of that and look for other options. Sometimes these scammers try to trick you by offering job offers that are too good to be true for example they promise that they will refund all the charges or they will send you abroad for posting by paying a certain amount. These kinds of scams are quite common in all the cities of India, from Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune to Chhattisgarh.

Another red flag sign is that there is no contact number on the email except their personal mobile number. All these fraud scammers / companies will take out money from your account by making false promises and will then vanish into thin air. Therefore, one should only look for jobs on trustworthy websites.

One should do a thorough background check of a company before applying. Also do not give any value to their location as these scammers will display their location as Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Bangalore etc, to give a feel that they are in big city. However, if you have already become a victim of job fraud then what can be done?

How to resolve Jobs/Employment Complaints in India?

First and foremost you should lodge a complaint at your nearest police station. The police station has a special cyber cell group which is expert in dealing such crimes. You can either submit the complaint through email or letter.

Moreover, if the address of the company is known to you then you can move legally too. This is how you can take action against fraud job consultancy :

1. Start Social Campaign
Start Social Media Campaign against Job consultancy. Posting on social media will not only publicly shame the company but will also let other people know that this company is a scam.

2. Send Legal Notice
You can send a Legal Notice to the Job consultancy. The legal notice will hamper the confidence of certain fraudsters and they will start panicking and provide you all the money they have taken.
