I had a salary account with HDFC. when I left my job due to no salary credited in that account has converted into savings and there was no money in that account and because of that HDFC has charged me a penalty for not minting balance of minimum **,***. I was getting SMS regarding the due amount in that saving account always. I also called HDFC customer care requesting to close my account as I can not keep **,*** all the time but they denied any help and asked me to visit home branch of HDFC which was in Kolkata and I was staying in Bangalore at that time.
Then I requested HDFC on a social media forum Facebook about my issue and they asked me to send an email.
I sent an email to "talktous@hdfc.com" on the date Wed, Dec **, ****, at **:** AM and requested to waive off my due balance.
HDFC replied on Thu, Dec **, ****, *:** PM
saying "as a service gesture, the outstanding charges in your account have been deleted."
I had visited one of the HDFC branches in Bangalore to close my account but they retained me saying please start using this account and do not close because there is no due balance anymore.
I was convinced and added **,*** on the date ** Feb **** in that account to maintain a minimum balance to avoid any penalty again.
I know the incident happen a long time back but I did try to complain several times to HDFC on different forums but every time they close the request without even doing proper checks. I have called and emailed to their nodal and higher teams also.
Kindly help me to get this issue resolved and get me a refund.
