I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against the resort membership that we purchased under the name “Taj India Resort” on March *, ****, for a duration of five years. At the time of sale, we were explicitly promised access to premium *-star hotel properties, including well-known international brands such as Marriott and Hilton, along with a wide range of luxury destinations both within India and abroad. These assurances played a decisive role in our decision to purchase the membership.
However, from the very beginning, whenever we attempted to make bookings at the promised hotels, we were repeatedly given excuses such as non-availability of rooms, blackout dates, or last-minute denials, even when availability was clearly visible to the general public. Over time, it became evident that the services promised during the sales presentation were never actually intended to be honored.
Further, without any prior consent or proper communication, the company has now rebranded itself as “Royal Grand Vacation.” Post rebranding, the scope of services has been drastically reduced. The membership is now restricted only to bookings within India, and even those are limited to a very selective and inferior list of properties, which are nowhere close to the *-star hotels that were promised at the time of sale. This unilateral change in brand identity, service scope, and quality amounts to a clear breach of contract, misrepresentation, and unfair trade practice.
We feel completely misled and cheated, as the membership sold to us under false promises has failed to deliver even a fraction of the benefits that were assured. Despite paying a substantial amount, we have not received the value, quality, or transparency promised during enrollment. We request immediate intervention, a full explanation for the mis-selling, and an appropriate resolution, including refund/compensation, failing which we will be compelled to escalate the matter to the Consumer Forum, National Consumer Helpline, and other legal authorities for redressal.
