Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally escalate a serious case of mis-selling, wrong commitments, and fraudulent practices by your sales and field team and to request an immediate cancellation of my connection and a full refund of the amount paid.

On **th February ****, from my residence at the above address, I raised a request for a new broadband/DTH connection through your official website, parallelly also evaluating other operators like Jio and ACT. I already had an active Airtel connection but was exploring a change due to their operational charges.
Your sales representative, Mr. Abid, contacted me and made multiple assurances that have turned out to be completely false and misleading:
He promised immediate fiber installation and completed the Tata Play Fiber connection within about one hour.
Based on his commitment, I opted for a one‑year subscription, trusting Tata’s name, with an offer of an additional four-month extension.
I was assured that the Tata Play DTH with Android set-top box would be activated on **th February, without any hidden or extra charges beyond what was discussed.
After payment and activation of Fiber, nobody proactively updated me on the DTH status. Finally, I was informed that an Android box could not be provided because an old set-top box was registered in my name—something that should have been checked before collecting money and giving commitments.
Subsequently:
I had to escalate to Mr. Ravi, who claimed to be the area manager. After reconfirming the channels and plans, I discovered that most of what was initially committed was incorrect or misleading.
I paid ₹*** as charges for the set-top box, as informed, with no delay or default from my side. Now I am being told I must separately pay for channels, contrary to the earlier assurance that everything would be taken care of by **th February.
After further follow‑ups, I was contacted by Mr. Muniraju, who again claimed to be an area manager, and he assured me he would resolve the issue. Till now, nothing has been addressed, and there is no response to my messages. Screenshots of the conversations are available and can be shared as evidence.
In addition, there has been a highly questionable act by your technician:
The technician who visited today claimed that the existing Airtel wire was “damaged” and must be fully replaced. However, Airtel was working perfectly till your team dismantled the setup. This clearly indicates an attempt to create artificial work and extract extra money from the customer.
When questioned, he changed his stance and said I should call an electrician and get new wiring done for the Tata connection—something I have never experienced with any other operator.
All this is despite me clearly asking the sales representative if there were any hidden or extra charges, to which he categorically said there were none and that everything would be completed by **th February. Instead, I am facing new surprises and demands at every step.
I chose Tata Play/Tata Fiber solely because I believed in the ethics, mission, vision, values, and code of conduct of the Tata Group, having been associated earlier with Tata Motors and being a strong admirer of the Tata legacy and of Mr. Ratan Tata. It is extremely disappointing and disturbing to see such behavior from your front‑end team, which not only violates basic customer trust but also damages the reputation of the Tata brand that has contributed so much to India’s economy.
In view of the above:
I hereby request immediate cancellation of my Tata Play DTH and Tata Play Fiber services activated under this transaction.
I demand a full refund of my hard‑earned money paid towards the one‑year subscription, DTH/box charges, and any related payments, as I do not wish to continue with a service obtained on false promises and unethical practices.
I request a written clarification on:
How such miscommitments, mis‑selling, and unprofessional conduct were allowed by your sales and technical staff.
What corrective and disciplinary action will be taken against the individuals involved (Mr. Abid, Mr. Ravi, Mr. Muniraju, and the concerned technician)?
I also request confirmation of the refund process and timelines, in line with Tata Play’s refund policy and grievance procedures, so that this matter is closed without further harassment.
Please treat this as a formal escalation to Tata Play and Tata Play Fiber. I trust that the senior team will uphold the Tata values, address this grievance as a priority, and ensure my refund is processed at the earliest.
I look forward to your prompt written response with a clear resolution and refund confirmation.
