I made a booking with Uber Cab from my office in Gurgaon to Dwarka Sector * in New Delhi. However, the cab driver intoxicated me during the ride under the influence of some substance. To my dismay, he stole my mobile phone, pickpocketed approximately Rs. **** from my wallet, and took some other accessories. Additionally, the driver overcharged me Rs. *** instead of the expected fare of Rs. ***, which was displayed on the Uber portal.

The next day, when I woke up, I called my phone and the cab driver answered, providing me with a fake address to collect my phone. Frustrated and concerned, I went to the police station seeking assistance. Luckily, a police officer named Ridh Singh helped me locate my device and had a conversation with the cab driver to arrange for the return of my mobile phone. The cab driver then asked me to meet him at the original pick-up location.

Upon reaching the location, I called the driver again, and he instructed me to come to Ramada Hotel in Gurugram. When I arrived at the hotel, the cab driver demanded Rs. **,*** in exchange for my mobile phone. Unfortunately, I only had Rs. *,*** in cash, so I pleaded with him to accept that amount as a settlement. However, things took a turn for the worse when he started verbally abusing and threatening me, in the presence of my younger brother. Worried for our safety, my brother contacted Police Officer Ridh Singh, who advised him to merge the call with the cab driver.

Upon hearing the police officer's voice, the cab driver, along with four other individuals present, resorted to physically abusing me. Fearful for my life, I decided to transfer the remaining Rs. *,*** through UPI, under the driver's coercion, to ensure our immediate safety. He warned me not to report the incident to the police.

In an attempt to seek justice and assistance, I reached out to Uber via Twitter and received a call back. I requested Uber to conduct an investigation and provide me with the driver's details so that I could file a formal complaint with the police. Regrettably, Uber has not yet shared any information with me.

It is deeply disheartening that such an incident occurred, as I had trusted the Uber brand while booking the cab.
