.I had a Emirates flight from Delhi to Hongkong via Dubai with pnr number HD*Q** on ** April ****. I had booked it through ixigo.
After travelling midway and reaching till Dubai, I got a mail from airlines that my. connecting flight has been cancelled. I didn't get any notification before that by airlines or agent. I called agent and airlines multiple times for refund but they didn't agree on this.
My first question to the airlines - why was I issued boarding pass(attached file) for dubai to hongkong flight (EK***) just * hr prior to departure from Delhi to Dubai, when it was known that the connecting flight is cancelled. I did ask the airline authorities at airport about the connecting flight(EK***) status before boarding the flight (EK***). They said it's operating and issued the boarding pass. Informing midway of my departure shows clear plan of looting customer's money.
The travel agent also said that Emirates airline has refused for the refund as I have boarded my first flight and reissued it for travelling back to Delhi from Dubai. Since I was stuck in Dubai and had no other option I was forced to book the ticket to return back (during Covid pandemic).
It is evident that the flight fare from Dubai to Hongkong is more than that from Dubai to Delhi.
I lodged a formal complaint to Emirates for claiming the refund of the difference of this amount. But they didn't agree.
