I engaged Design Cafe (GSE Commerce Pvt Ltd) for interior design services for my *BHK flat in Pune. An advance of Rs. *,**,*** was paid on January **, ****. Project reference DC-*******. The engagement ran from December **** to April **** — three and a half months — with no finalised design, no finalised quote and no execution-ready output delivered.
Key issues documented in project WhatsApp group and Fathom recordings: (*) Studio Manager Aditi Shetkar admitted in writing on April **, **** that DC's own design process was not followed. (*) Wrong software SketchUp used throughout — Aditi herself stated on the April * recorded meeting that DC will not honour SketchUp designs. (*) Designer absent twice without handover — backup designer Mitali attended a scheduled call with no preparation and admitted during the call she had not received any handover. (*) Designs created live in meetings instead of being prepared in advance — escalated three times in writing on February **, March ** and April *, ****, each time acknowledged, never corrected. (*) Hettich hardware committed at booking was absent from all quotes — designer acknowledged Hettich not available in DC portal. (*) Electricals and false ceiling removed from scope without communication — designer directed us to a third party contradicting the original booking scope. (*) On April **, ****, exit was conditioned on a minimum further purchase of Rs. *.* lakhs at no discount — an unfair trade practice under Section *(**) of the Consumer Protection Act ****.
Three formal escalations raised. Matter escalated to COO and Co-CEOs. DC's final position: **% refund of Rs. **,*** or modular unit at zero discount. Both unacceptable. Full refund of Rs. *,**,*** with interest and compensation for consequential loss, professional time and mental harassment is sought.
