Hi,

Please read the below message to understand how LG engineers and technicians lie and force you to sign up for their AMC program.

I live in Chennai and recently my LG inverter split AC got repaired. So, I raised a repair request on the LG website https://www.lg.com/in/support/product-support/repair-request/ and received a message saying an LG technician would visit your house to check the repair.

On **th March ****, an LG engineer Vinoth(+** **********) and his junior assistant engineer, Jabasteen (+** **********) visited my house, and after checking said it would cost more than Rs **,*** to repair the AC as the inside fan motor and PCB board are gone and have to be replaced. Vinoth estimated the cost of the fan motor is Rs **** and the PCB board is Rs **** plus service charge & GST it would be Rs **,*** and advised me to sign up for their AMC program which will cover the cost of the PCB board but not the fan motor, which I need to pay from my pocket. AMC program for *-year costs Rs **** and Vinoth explained it is beneficial to sign up for the AMC program as it will cover the cost of PCB board plus I will receive four general services for a year. So, I signed up for the AMC program, once he received the money Vinoth left without giving me any receipts or invoice saying I would receive it from their HO. When asked about the repair he said he would come in one or two days with the parts to replace them and left hurriedly.

Then came the worst experience of my life, I waited for two days but there was no response from LG or Vinoth. I called Vinoth, his immediate manager, AnanthaBabu(+** **********) and the senior team manager, Vetri (+** **********) but there was no response, I also didn’t receive any message or invoice for the AMC I paid earlier. So I kept calling LG, finally Vinoth Ananthababu picked up the call and sent the assistant engineer Jabasteen (+** **********) & another LG engineer to repair the AC.

After ** days they visited the house and repaired the AC replacing only the inside Fan Motor, when I enquired about the PCB board they said it was healthy and there was no issue with the board. And then came the shock, the cost of the inside Fan Motor is only Rs *** plus the service charge & GST, the bill amount is Rs ****. I did not want to make the junior engineer’s life miserable, So I paid them and when I asked them about Vinoth and the invoice for AMC they said they had no idea and only Vinoth would respond to that.

Then I spoke to Ananthababu but his response was very immature saying Vinoth is unavailable and he is on a long holiday, when asked about the AMC invoice, he said I would receive it from Head Office in one or two days but still I didn’t receive the invoice. This shenanigan took three weeks of my time and energy.

This is the perfect SCAM of LG engineers & technicians, who force you to take their AMC program even for small repairs and when asked who’s in charge or who is responsible they will not pick up the call or blame one another. My humble request is please don’t buy LG products or don’t use their repair service in India better call the local repair guy to fix the issues, you can save so much money, time and energy.
